Dr. Robert Proctor, Director of Ministerial Care

Dr. Robert Proctor serves as director of Ministry Care for the Church of God in California and Nevada.  Dr. Robert Proctor recently retired from the pastorate of Southwest Christian Center Church of God in Bakersfield, California after serving the congregation for over 33 years.  He and his wife, Linda, want to serve the ministerial families of the Church of God by offering support and care.  The desire of Ministry Care is to be both a resource to those needing guidance and a refuge for those dealing with pain.

We All Struggle: Welcome to the Human Race!

Isolation is one of the great dangers of ministry.  Henry David Thoreau stated; “the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.” Ministry care is a safe place for those needing to talk.  Confidentiality is sacred and will be observed.  When we live in isolation and denial we find that our minds can become our greatest enemy.  Further, the stress of daily ministry can take its toll.  Another aspect of struggle is the fear of failure.  As we renegotiate our mental and emotional status we can adequately evaluate our priorities.  Success is transitory.  Failure is fear of the mind.  True success in ministry is to be faithful to God and leave the outcome to Him.

"God hasn't called me to be successful. He called me to be faithful." ~
Mother Teresa

Don’t carry your burdens alone; there is help; there is hope!
